How the Protein Estimate Works

The calculation uses the protein density of each garlic form, expressed as grams of protein per 100 grams. Raw garlic contains about 6.36 g of protein per 100 g, cooked or boiled garlic about 3.90 g per 100 g, and garlic powder about 16.30 g per 100 g. The calculator first converts your serving to grams, then applies the formula:

Protein = serving weight in grams × (protein per 100 g ÷ 100)

Example: 10 g of raw garlic × 0.0636 = 0.64 g of protein. If the same serving is garlic powder, 10 g × 0.163 = 1.63 g of protein. The powder is more calorie-dense and less moist, which concentrates its nutrients per gram.

Common Questions
